Chapter 4 – The Art of the Invisible Agent

Inside the Kitsilano studio, The Master (00No has given The Blueprint a new title — The Master) was erasing the old sketches of tunnels and slides. “Agent 00No has changed the strategy,” she announced to Alfred and 00Coo. “A tunnel can be found. A slide can be followed. But a person who looks like they belong? They are truly invisible.”

She began to design the Identity Archive, a hidden chamber behind the kitchen pantry. Inside, she designed three perfect “Vanishers”:

The Flower Delivery Driver: A bright jacket and a cap with a “Kitsilano Blooms” logo. The Master even designed a specialized delivery box. “It looks like it holds a pizza or roses,” she explained, “but it actually contains a high-speed scanner.”

The Coastal Gardener: A pair of muddy overalls and a sun hat. “If he carries a rake,” Alfred added, “everyone assumes he’s just tending to the roses. People always look away from a man at work.”

The Medical Professional: A set of blue scrubs and a stethoscope. The Master knew that a doctor is never questioned; they are simply let through the gates.

But what if Chippy ‘Nuts’ Moretti is watching the front gate?” 00Coo asked, his Coo-municator buzzing.

“That,” The Master said with a clever smile, “is why I’ve designed the Diversion Traps.”

She pointed to the garden path on her map.

  • The Sticky Stone: One specific paving stone is coated in a super-strong, invisible honey-glue. If Chippy steps on it, he is stuck to the spot, unable to follow!
  • The Sprinkler Surprise: A hidden sensor near the bushes. If it detects Bunny The Burrow’ Balduci trying to sneak in, the sprinklers spray a cloud of harmless, glittery purple dust that makes the intruder glow in the dark.

“Once the diversion starts,” The Master continued, “Agent 00No will simply walk out the front door in his disguise. By the time the intruders realize he’s gone, he’ll be miles away, heading to the Safe House hidden among the rocks at the end of the beach.”

“Brilliant,” Alfred remarked. “They’ll be looking for a spy, and they’ll only see a gardener.”

The Master nodded. In her world, the best way to hide was to stand right in front of everyone.
